General Award Guidelines

  • All nominated individuals, organizations and businesses must be based in the Greater Montreal Area (GMA).
  • Nominated youth must be 25 years old or younger.
  • Any outstanding citizen who volunteers or who takes initiative within the community is eligible.
  • Any not-for-profit group or organization working in the interests of the community is eligible.
  • An individual may nominate an organization of which they are a member.
  • The Awards are designed to recognize past achievements.
  • The Awards do not exclude community groups that use professionals to support the delivery of services undertaken by volunteers.

Award Categories

Recipients will be recognized in the following categories:
An individual whose ongoing commitment has resulted in a significant and recognizable contribution to improving the quality of life and well-being of individuals, groups and/or communities by serving as, among other things:
  • A positive role model with a strong work/life balance
  • An active and empowering mentor
  • An engaged community advocate
A community or charitable organization whose ongoing commitment has resulted in a significant and recognizable contribution to improving the quality of life and well-being of individuals, groups and/or communities by funding or providing programming in one or more of the following areas:
  • Education
  • Sports
  • Youth
  • Arts and Culture
  • Health
An SME whose caring and engaged culture has resulted in a significant and recognizable contribution to improving the quality of life and well-being of individuals, groups and/or communities by actively supporting (funding, volunteering, etc.) initiatives focused in one or more of the following areas:
  • Education
  • Sports
  • Youth
  • Arts and Culture
  • Health
An exceptionally well-rounded youth who is:
  • An outstanding athlete
  • A strong student
  • An active community advocate
A youth who has rallied others around a cause, event or initiative that has made a significant and recognizable contribution in one or more of the following areas:
  • Education
  • Sports
  • Youth
  • Arts and Culture
  • Health
